Whether you’re a Glinda or an Elphaba, there is no denying that a Wicked-themed birthday party is the ultimate way to celebrate "One Short Day" in the Emerald City! We recently helped put together a stunning 7th birthday and the results were truly magical.
From floating decorations to a science-defying show, here is how we brought the land of Oz to life.
The Look: Pink Goes Good With Green
To capture the essence of the hit movie, we leaned into the iconic contrast of pink and green. We set up two long tables to represent the two lead characters:
- The "Glinda" Table: Featuring a chic black tablecloth topped with our Pink Sequin Table Runner.
- The "Elphaba" Table: A crisp white base paired with our Green Sequin Table Runner.
We finished the seating with our signature Pink and Gold Tiffany/Chiavari chairs, giving every little guest a throne fit for a witch!
The Table Decor
Details make the difference! Each place setting was a tribute to the characters using our official Wicked range:
- Wicked Paper Plates and Wicked Paper Cups.
- Wicked Napkins tucked under the plates.
- A mix of Witch Hat Headbands and Glinda Crowns for the kids to wear.
- Green and Pink acrylic scatters for that extra sparkle.
The "Show-Stopping" DIY Hack
Want to know our favourite budget-friendly secret? We hung witch hats and starburst balloons from the ceiling using invisible wire. It created a "gravity-defying" floating effect that had the kids (and parents!) in awe. It’s a cheap, cost-effective way to create a massive visual impact.
Our Magical Partners
A party this big takes a village! We teamed up with some incredible local vendors to round out the experience:
- The Entertainment: The "Science Guy" from An Enchanted Party kept everyone mesmerised with experiments that looked like real-life magic.
- The Cake: This stunning half-pink, half-green masterpiece was created by Manda’s Cakes.
- The Big Hits: We hired the incredible "Wicked" themed backdrop and the massive white castle from AL Events.
